As Director of Communications, Dr. Baker adds a unique dimension to the TPG team, bringing more than 30 years experience in public relations and administration. The newest member of The Perryman Group, he has held executive positions in a variety of military, educational, and nonprofit institutions, and has served on the boards of numerous civic and community organizations. Author of several books and other publications, Dr. Baker assists with the planning and development of communication programs designed to enhance the image of The Perryman Group and to broaden the public knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the team members.  His expertise is also available to clients seeking to maximize the impact of their analysis on pertinent constituencies.

 Richard Cox 
  Manager

MBA, Baylor University
BS, Engineering, University of Texas at Austin

Mr. Cox is a TPG Manager and specializes in valuations for businesses and damage assessment for commercial litigation cases. An Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and a Professional Engineer (PE), he has a significant amount of experience in managing projects involving market and business damage analysis in legal cases such as antitrust, unfair competition, breach of contract, tortious interference, intellectual property matters, and other commercial disputes. Mr. Cox provides business valuations of closely-held companies and assets for purposes such as acquisitions, estate tax planning, and financial accounting reporting. He also performs risk and benchmarking analysis for companies and business ventures. In addition, Mr. Cox has experience in risk-return analysis of investments in limited partnerships, equities, bonds, and other securities. Prior to joining TPG in 1991, Mr. Cox had eight years of experience in the energy services and construction industries.

 Virginia Gleghorn
   Manager

Ms. Gleghorn is a Manager at TPG with extensive expertise in socioeconomic impact analysis and expert testimony. A member of the company since 1989, much of her research is focused on securities fraud, bankruptcy, and other litigation matters. Ms. Gleghorn directs the study of calculation of damages and other factors related to business loss in major patent infringement cases, contract disputes, and other litigation. She also has experience developing procedures and methodologies for federal government agencies. As project manager valuing loan portfolios held by major savings and loans, she directs analyses of office buildings, single and multi-family units, land, and warehouses to establish actual versus expected performance. In addition, she analyzes the economic events and conditions of various areas in Texas, factoring in information ranging from economic indicators to public opinion.

 Larry Lyon

Dr. Lyon is Senior Vice President and Dean of the Graduate School at Baylor University. He also serves as Professor of Sociology and is the past director of the Center for Community research and Development. In his position as a TPG Associate Consultant, he is involved in site location research, needs assessment, population projections, focus groups, surveys, mock juries, institutional evaluations, and program development projects. A member of the Baylor faculty since 1975, Dr. Lyon has received numerous awards for his teaching and academic research. Among the books he has authored are The Community in Urban Society and New Perspectives on the American Community. He also has recently published articles in Fides et Historia and Perspectives in Religious Studies.

 Bob Orvis
  Controller/Director of Information Systems

As TPG Controller and Director of Information Systems, Mr. Orvis is responsible for all accounting financial statements and record keeping of the company, as well as the development of automated economic model systems for both in-house purposes and to meet the needs of clients. He also develops specialized computer programs and software to support the research and publication projects of The Perryman Group and supervises the maintenance of all TPG computer hardware and software. Prior to joining The Perryman Group in 1989, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer with Poly-America and President of Perryman Data Services for a combined total of 15 years.

 Nancy Risinger
  Legal Assistant/Document Manager

Ms. Risinger, Legal Assistant and Document Manager for The Perryman Group, provides document and research assistance in all project-related activities. She organizes and records documents related to each project and prepares periodic review materials for the staff. Ms. Risinger’s legal training and expertise specifically enable her to focus on the areas of litigation and regulatory support. As a contributor to The Perryman Texas Letter, one of the firm’s monthly newsletters, she researches and develops pertinent data related to economic development throughout Texas. She also has extensive experience in developing and serving various marketing programs.

 Shelia Smith
  Special Projects Director

BBA, Information Systems, Baylor University

Ms. Smith serves as Special Projects Director for both The Perryman Group and its sister company, Texas Economic Publishers. With over 13 years of experience in information management, she supervises the maintenance and updating of myriad databases for TPG’s complex economic models and forecasts. In addition to database management, she coordinates the creation, design, textual graphics, and overall layout of the company’s monthly newsletters, The Perryman Texas Letter and The Perryman Report, serving as liaison with the vendors who provide services for the company’s numerous publications and marketing efforts. Ms. Smith also directs the production process for the annual issues of The Perryman Economic Short-Term Forecast and The Perryman Economic Long-Term Forecast.
